Should a golf glove be tight?

Yes, across the palm and fingers. It should fit tight there with no loose material, without restricting movement. Extra material at the fingertips or a closure that barely reaches means you should try another size. FootJoy's cadet cut has shorter fingers and a wider palm than its regular cut.

Which hand do you wear a golf glove on?

Usually the lead hand, which is the left hand for a right-handed swing and the right hand for a left-handed swing. Seller labels may refer to the swing hand instead of the hand the glove fits.

Buying for someone else?

Check the brand, size, and hand on their current glove. Do not guess from their writing hand. Avoid a multipack unless you know the fit works.
